The Oakland Schools Technical Campuses provide several career and educational scholarship opportunities for our students. Explore the information and contact your career counselor with any questions.

Oakland Schools Education Foundation’s Career Kickstart Award

 Application deadline is February 6, 2026.

The Career Kickstart Award provides seniors with monetary awards to support their future, whether that’s college, trade school, or an apprenticeship. This award recognizes technical education students for their hard work, leadership, and career goals. Funds may be used for tuition, equipment, or supplies. Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $2,500 and apply to the following school year.

Oakland Community College Chancellor’s Scholarship and More

Application deadlines are various deadlines.

Chancellor’s Scholarship deadline to apply is April 5, 2025.

The Oakland Community College Chancellor's Scholarship is awarded to one senior enrolled at each Oakland Schools Technical Campus.

The award is for $4,000 ($2,000 for the fall semester and $2,000 for the winter semester), is non-renewable, and is good only for the first academic year following the student's high school graduation.

SET SEG Skilled Trade Scholarship

Application reopens in February 2026

Application deadline is March 27, 2026

The SET SEG Foundation believes in supporting Michigan public school students in the pursuit of enrichment opportunities that that advance learning, leadership, and civic responsibility. This year, they’re awarding 20 scholarships of $1,000 each to help students pursue hands-on learning opportunities and build rewarding careers.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Scholarships

Various deadlines

Over the years, NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides close to $300,000 in scholarships annually, and strives to help connect education and industry to build a highly skilled workforce.

NTHS believes that career and technical education (CTE) students must be supported and encouraged to seek higher education in today’s highly competitive global community. Aware of the increasing cost to attend post-secondary schools, NTHS is dedicated to providing scholarships to CTE students who choose a skilled trade as their career. Jason Yates Memorial Scholarship

Application Deadline: December 31st, 2025

Awarded by the Walled Lake Masonic Lodge F&AM #528 

The Jason Yates Memorial Scholarship is being awarded in the memory of Jason Yates, a student at Walled Lake Western High School who passed away his senior year. His father was a member of our Lodge and we started this in his memory as well.

There is a $1200.00 scholarship available to any trade school bound student currently attending Walled Lake Western H.S., Walled Lake Central H.S., or Oakland Schools Technical Campuses, Southwest (OSTC SW). Documentation showing acceptance by a trade school is required and the scholarship will be sent to the school in the student’s name.

Please submit the essay, GPA documentation and school acceptance letter to the Walled Lake Masonic Lodge F&AM #528, 374 W. Walled Lake Dr., Walled Lake MI 48350 by December 31st.

Elwin Brown Masonic Education Scholarships

Application deadline is March 18, 2025.

The Elwin Brown Education Scholarships are seeking graduating High School Seniors attend a Vocational or Technical training program that grants a degree, certification or license, who live in or attended school in the Clarkston area, and favoring a student with a commitment to their community and charity. For 2025, we are offering: One, $1000  for  Masonic Education Scholarship.

Elwin Brown Vocational Education Scholarships

Application deadline is Monday, April 21, 2025.

Eligibility: Graduating High School Seniors intending to further their education by attending a vocational training institution that grants a degree, certification, or license. Seeking students who attend Oakland Schools Technical Northwest Campus and favoring a student with a commitment to their community and charity.
