Automotive Technology Graduate Excels
Kenyon Knight, a 2021 graduate, attended the Automotive Technology program for two years and is currently working at Art Moran Buick GMC Southfield. He is a Master Certified Automotive Service Technician and works on vehicles with any issues, bumper to bumper. Kenyon has ten industry certifications and is General Motors Master Certified in the Suspension category and above 90% in all GM training categories.
Kenyon credits the program for equipping him with thoughtful insight and hands-on experience to prepare him for real-world situations. He learned about engines through the program which gave him a head start in the automotive repair industry.
Kenyon's best advice to incoming automotive students is, "Trust what Mr. Willis tells you, trust the process. He has led me to become the technician that I am, and he has pushed me to be on track to become the youngest ASE Master Certified Technician. The automotive program is fun yet challenging. Do your work, listen to what Mr. Willis and Mr. Waite say. Work towards starting your automotive career at the age of 16 like myself."
