Certified Nurse's Aide Orientation and Recruitment
Mark Edwards

In a collaborative effort, the Health Sciences program at OSTC-SW joined hands with OSTC-NE in a Certified Nurse's Aide orientation session, promoting comprehensive learning for aspiring healthcare professionals. Diverse topics were covered, ranging from the intricacies of abuse types to understanding residents' rights and even delving into the nuances of military time.

The session emphasized the significance of establishing meaningful connections irrespective of diverse backgrounds, and nurturing a holistic approach to patient care. A Bellbrook Senior Living Facility representative shared insights, adding real-world perspective and practical advice to the session. Students also acquired valuable experience, earning four clinical hours for their participation.

An innovative touch was added as Culinary Arts/Hospitality students, guided by our team of Chefs Justin Howard, Bradford Williams, Jackie Lord, and Colyn Holder, prepared and served a multi-course lunch. This inter-program collaboration showcased their skills and highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork in achieving common educational objectives.
