Chief Financial Credit Union Awards Scholarships to Automotive Technology Students
The Chief Financial Credit Union, awarded two $1,000 scholarships to students in the Automotive Technology program at the Northeast campus, emphasizing their enduring support to education and community development.
The awards ceremony and luncheon prepared by the Culinary Arts/Hospitality students took place on February 8, where Edd Henry and Luis Magana-Cespedes were announced as the winners of the Automotive Technology and Collision Repair & Refinishing Scholarships, respectively, from a pool of 22 applicants. Mr. Tom Dluzen, President and CEO of CFCU and Director of Business Development, Ms. Ashley Chambers, presented the scholarships to each student.
OSTC-Northeast Dean Paul Galbenski stated, "What I love about Chief Financial is not only that they are rooted right here in Pontiac, but they are investing in our youth by providing scholarships for students pursuing a career in transportation technology."
The scholarships, awarded for the first time this year, underline the credit union's mission of "people helping people."
