ERM Program Welcomes New Collaborative Robot
Excitement buzzed through the Engineering, Robotics, and Mechatronics (ERM) program at OSTC-Northeast as two new robots joined the ranks. Demetrius Wilson, ERM Instructor, received a cutting-edge FANUC robot, a generous addition that benefited all campuses.
Apollo America, Inc. in Auburn Hills further enhanced the program by donating a Sawyer robot, amplifying the hands-on learning experience for students. Wilson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Two collaborative robots bring a lot to the lab, and the students are digging right in."
This acquisition reflects OSTC Northeast's commitment to providing students with state-of-the-art tools to excel in the dynamic field of robotics.
Cassidy Campbell, a dedicated and ambitious student, recently completed the rigorous two-year Health Sciences program, fulfilling all clinical requirements at the Waterford Fire Department and earning a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.
The Oakland Schools Technical Campuses (OSTC) and Oakland Community College (OCC) collaboration has launched the Oakland Technical Early College (OTEC) program. This pathway has significantly benefitted many students, including Pascal Klepser, a Rochester Adams High School attendee who joined OSTC-NE for Engineering, Robotics & Mechatronics.
Dr. Brian Van Rooyen, a 2013 Lake Orion High School graduate, is making waves in the dental community, attributing his foundational medical knowledge and career success to the time spent at the Oakland Schools Technical Campus-Northeast (OSTC-Northeast).
