Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northeast student Alyssa Acker earned a 14th-place national finish in the Fundamentals of Web Design competition during the 2026 Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference, held May 6-10 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Acker, a Lake Orion High School junior and member of the OSTC-NE BPA chapter, competed against 55 students from across the country in the national competition. In addition to her primary event, she also participated in national open events in Computer Programming Concepts, Information Technology Concepts, and Digital Communication and Design Concepts.
The BPA National Leadership Conference brought together thousands of students nationwide for career-focused competitions, leadership workshops, networking opportunities and industry certification experiences under this year’s theme, “Amplify Your Impact.”
“Alyssa’s accomplishments are a result of her hard work, perseverance, and passion for technology,” said instructor Dan Krompatic.
Acker’s participation highlights OSTC-NE’s commitment to preparing students for careers in business, information technology and digital media.
