Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northeast students earned multiple top finishes, including Best School Overall honors, during the 2026 SAE Micro-Electric Vehicle Competition held May 6 in Canton.
OSTC-NE students captured first- and second-place finishes in multiple divisions while earning the overall school championship and a $2,550 prize for the campus.
In the Performance Enhanced Electronics Division, Theodore Foss of LO Learning Options, Lukas Skrna of Lake Orion High School and Jacob Webb of Pontiac International Technology Academy earned first place. The second-place team included De’Shawn Brown of Avondale, Shannon McShane of Stoney Creek High School and George Powelson of Lake Orion High School.
In the Performance Non-Enhanced 1.5V Electronics Division, Kezia Spears and Landen Walker, both from Rochester Adams High School, teamed with Michael Wellman of Oxford Virtual Academy to earn first place.
The annual SAE competition challenges students to apply engineering, electronics, and automotive technology skills through hands-on design and performance testing experiences.
