OSTC Northeast Cosmetology Students Showcase Creativity in "Anything but Hair" Competition
Mark Edwards

Cosmetology students at Oakland Schools Technical Campus–Northeast put their creativity to the test this fall during the annual "Anything but Hair" competition, where participants were challenged to design manikin hairstyles using any material except hair.

Staff and students across the Northeast campus voted on their favorite entries, selecting "Dictionary Hair", created by Za'Niyah Jones, as the first-place winner. Katelyn Emrick earned second place with "Jeans & Curls", while Savanah Winnie took third for her nature-inspired design, "Poison Ivy".

The event encourages innovation, resourcefulness, and artistic expression, skills essential to success in the cosmetology industry.
