Recent Cosmetology Graduate Shares Success
Jamie Haines, a 2022 graduate of the Cosmetology program recently visited the Northeast campus and presented to current cosmetology students.
She explained her job to students and how important it is to keep up on assignments and keep an open mind as they go through the program and think about next steps after graduation.
She is currently working at Dye Hair Salon in Ferndale. Jamie eventually plans to attend Schoolcraft College and major in cosmetology management and eventually own her own salon.
As a recent graduate, Jamie spoke about what it takes to get through the Cosmetology program and what it meant to her, "OSTC helped prepared me to work in a salon. Given the number of skills we learned, I feel like I am prepared for anything that walks through the door. The low cost really helped me get ahead too."
Jamie gave a personal shoutout to Tracey Heath, Cosmetology Instructor, as a "bright light" and a reason for her success.
