Scholarships for Success and CTE Outstanding Students Awarded
Three outstanding students from OSTC-Northeast were awarded Scholarships for Success, a program funded through a partnership between Oakland Schools and DENSO International.
Since its inception in 1991, the program has awarded over $415,000 to students excelling in technical studies.
This year's recipients — Jorge Terraza Jaquez, Ruby Speedwell, and Cassidy Saulter, were recognized for their academic achievements and leadership in and out of the classroom.
The scholarship funds can be used at any accredited post-secondary institution, trade school, or apprenticeship program.
Evan Ramakers, a second-year Computer Programming student and an Oakland Technical Early College student, was honored for his remarkable achievements. In addition to nearly completing 30 credits at Oakland Community College and earning a spot on the Dean's List, Evan has attained certifications in Java, Python, and many other programming languages, highlighting his commitment to excellence and continuous learning.
