Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northeast students explored local manufacturing careers during Manufacturing Day 2025 on Friday, Oct. 3, following an event kickoff with U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens.

After the kickoff, students boarded buses to visit several of the region’s top manufacturing partners for facility tours and hands-on demonstrations. Computer Programming students toured ABB in Auburn Hills, Engineering/Robotics/Mechatronics (ERM) students visited FANUC in Auburn Hills, Welding students explored Ascent Aerospace in Lake Orion, and Machining students visited Triple Inc. in Troy.

The kickoff event, hosted at the Northeast Campus, included remarks from Rep. Stevens, Oakland County Executive David Coulter, Oakland Schools K-12 Career Readiness Supervisor Paul Galbenski, and OSTC-Northeast Dean Rosa Everitt.

All Northeast Campus students enrolled in Computer Programming, Machining, Welding, and ERM programs participated in the event. Instructors Steve Langdon (Welding), Al Mangani (Machining), Demetrius Wilson (ERM), and long-term substitute Marsha Voncino (Computer Programming) served as chaperones.

The day allowed students to engage directly with industry professionals, observe advanced manufacturing technologies in action, and gain insight into potential career pathways within Michigan’s growing manufacturing sector.
