Building Bridges Between Education and Industry at OSTC-NW

A recent campus tour at Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northwest highlighted the impact of strong partnerships between education and industry.

During the visit, local business partners observed students demonstrating equipment, explaining industry standards, and outlining postsecondary plans. Students spoke with confidence about their career pathways and technical training.

Campus leaders said the tours provide more than a program overview. They offer opportunities to strengthen collaboration between schools and the business community. Industry partners gain insight into how their feedback informs curriculum development, equipment investments, and real-world learning experiences.

Students benefit from expanded networking opportunities, mentorship connections, and potential internships within the local workforce.

NW School-to-Career Coordinator Chris Bowman said continued engagement with industry partners remains a campus priority. Additional tour opportunities are available throughout the school year for businesses and community members interested in learning more about OSTC Northwest programs.

By maintaining strong relationships with local employers, the campus continues to build clear pathways from classroom instruction to career success.
