Busy Month of September in Agriscience!

It’s been an exciting start to the 2025-26 school year for students in the Agriscience and Environmental Technologies program, who participated in multiple hands-on learning experiences and Future Farmers of America events.

Region 2 FFA Fall Bash:
FFA members attended the Region 2 Fall Bash at Gust Brothers Pumpkin Farm, where they competed in Ag Olympics, joined a farm scavenger hunt, and connected with peers from across the region. The event fostered teamwork, leadership, and plenty of fall fun.

Cook’s Farm Dairy Field Trip:
Students visited Cook’s Farm Dairy for an in-depth look at the dairy industry. With guidance from farm host Andy, they learned about livestock care, milk production, and farm operations before enjoying samples of the farm’s famous chocolate milk and ice cream.

FFA Broiler Project:
The Michigan FFA Broiler Project is underway, with students raising 50 chickens through a five-week growth cycle. Now halfway through, students are managing daily feeding and care routines to ensure healthy development. Once complete, the project will connect directly with OSTC’s Culinary Arts program through the award-winning Farm to Fork collaboration, bringing agriculture and food science together in a tangible, student-led experience.
