Celebrating Manufacturing Day: Real-World Learning in Action
Mark Edwards

Students from the Entrepreneurship and Advanced Marketing (EAM) and Engineering, Robotics, and Mechatronics (ERM) programs at OSTC Northwest took part in this year’s Manufacturing Day, gaining firsthand insight into the industries driving Michigan’s economy.

EAM students visited BROSE, a global leader in automotive mechatronic systems, where they explored the intersection of innovation, marketing, and international business strategy. The visit provided a glimpse into how cutting-edge technology and strategic planning work together to inform product development in a competitive market.

Meanwhile, ERM students toured HI TECH MOLD & ENGINEERING, INC., where they explored precision tooling, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The hands-on experience deepened their understanding of the engineering processes behind today’s high-tech production systems.

Both groups returned inspired and energized, connecting classroom concepts with real-world applications. Many students left with new career ideas and a clearer vision for their futures.

OSTC Northwest extends its gratitude to BROSE and HI TECH MOLD & ENGINEERING for welcoming students and supporting the next generation of innovators, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
