OSTC Engineering Students Excel at MITES State Competition
Nine Engineering, Robotics & Mechatronics (ERM) students from OSTC-NW competed in the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society (MITES) State Finals on Thursday, May 8, in Gaylord, showcasing advanced technical projects and creative problem-solving skills.
Their entries earned top 10 placements across several competitive categories.
Results included:
1st Place: Ted Pettinato and Matt Nye
2nd Place: Alek VanMoorleghem
3rd Place: Jorge Cruz (Bicycle-to-Motorcycle Conversion) pictured above
4th Place: Noah Sapelak
7th Place: Kennedy Spedding
9th Place: Mia Schipono and Sebastian Nickolopoulos
Engineering, Robotics & Mechatronics Instructor Chuck Beyer commended the students for their innovation and precision. “Our ERM students continue to push boundaries and demonstrate excellence at the state level.”
