Students Excel in Work-Based Learning at Waterford Fire Department

Three seniors from OSTC-NW's Health Sciences program recently engaged in a significant work-based learning opportunity at the Waterford Fire Department, furthering their expertise as Patient Care Technicians.
 
This practical experience provided invaluable real-world insights into emergency medical services. Within the professional setting of the Fire Department, these students actively participated in various aspects, applying their classroom knowledge and gaining a deeper understanding of emergency assistance.
 
Their involvement in the Fire Department's Cadet Program offered specialized training, expanding their insights into emergency response services. This unique combination of theoretical learning and hands-on experience is crucial in preparing these students for the challenges of their future careers.
 
 This work-based learning experience enriched their skills and fostered essential attributes such as quick decision-making, teamwork, and adaptability.
