Nine culinary students competed Saturday, Feb. 21, at the American Culinary Federation Cook Like You Mean It Classic XIV at Dorsey College’s Roseville campus.

In the student pastry skills competition, Zandrea Williams, Zayna Szalontai, Paris McCain, Katlyn Mitchell and Jaida Bell prepared a dozen cookies, decorated a cake and segmented an orange within 60 minutes.

In the knife skills competition, Damea Henderson, Connor Lewis, Sophia Monette and Ti-Maiah Marshall fabricated a chicken and completed five precision cuts: dice, tourné, paysanne, julienne, and concasse within 60 minutes.

Students earned five bronze medals and three certificates of excellence. Ti-Maiah Marshall received Best of Show silver for knife skills.

The event was judged by internationally recognized pastry chefs and Certified Master Chefs, providing students with valuable networking opportunities.
