Connecting Through Creativity: OSTC Students in Health Sciences Build a Web of Connection

Health Science students in the afternoon session at OSTC-Southeast kicked off the semester with a hands-on activity designed to highlight self-expression and the power of connection.

Each student created an “About Me” hexagon decorated with drawings, words, and symbols that reflected their personality, interests, and future goals. Afterward, students linked their hexagons to others, finding common ground in shared hobbies, career aspirations, or unique similarities.

The finished product, a large, colorful wall display, represents both individuality and unity.

“This activity shows that health science is about more than just medicine; it’s about people and relationships,” said OSTC-SE Health Sciences Instructor Angela Shaw.

The collaborative hexagon wall now hangs in the classroom as a reminder that while each student contributes something different, together they form a stronger whole.
