Consumers Energy's Mobile Training Engages Energy Students
Mark Edwards

OSTC-Southeast and Northwest Energy students immersed themselves in the enlightening Consumers Energy Careers in Energy Mobile Training Experience. The mobile trailer unfolded a spectrum of unique encounters, including stationary bikes ingeniously transformed into generators. Engaging virtual reality displays allowed students to simulate pole climbing, witness drone shots of wind turbines, and embark on a hydroelectric dam tour on Lake Michigan. An interactive energy trivia session brought an element of fun to the learning experience.

The sessions, conducted in both morning and afternoon slots, were graced by the expertise of Michelle Mitchell, Consumers Energy's Talent Pipeline Project Manager. Mitchell's valuable insights enriched the students' understanding of the energy sector and its dynamic career landscape. The hands-on nature of the training left an indelible impression on the participating students, who found themselves captivated by the innovative and interactive elements woven into the mobile training experience. This endeavor not only broadened their knowledge but also sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for the diverse opportunities within the energy industry.
