Criminal Justice students had the opportunity to attend the annual Youth Law Conference hosted by the Oakland County Bar Association. This one-day event introduced students to key legal issues that impact young people, providing insights into civic responsibilities and legal career pathways.
Students participated in workshops covering a range of topics, including:
- The Role and Responsibility of a Judge
- Pathways to a Legal Career
- Civic Responsibilities and Election Law
- Expectations of Traffic Stops
- Meet the Law Dogs of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department
Additionally, students had the privilege of hearing from Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who engaged with attendees and shared insights on civic engagement and public service.
The conference at Walsh College in Troy equipped students with valuable knowledge to help them make informed decisions as responsible citizens.
