Culinary Arts Students Explore Schoolcraft College
In early October a group of enthusiastic Culinary Arts/Hospitality students from OSTC-SE got an up-close look at the culinary program at Schoolcraft College. Guided by Chef Haritash and Chef Popa, they were welcomed by Chef Misiak, who led them on a tour of Schoolcraft’s impressive culinary facilities.
"It was an amazing experience for our students to see one of the best culinary programs in the state," said Chef Popa. "Schoolcraft has world-class facilities and instructors, and our students were able to learn about the wide array of culinary classes and degrees they offer."
The visit allowed OSTC-SE students to explore Schoolcraft’s advanced kitchens, bakeries, and dining areas. They also learned about culinary tracks, including Baking & Pastry, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management. Meeting the renowned faculty, many of whom are Certified Master Chefs, left a lasting impression.
"Seeing the Schoolcraft program in person was invaluable," added Chef Popa. "It opened their eyes to fantastic educational and career opportunities."
Many students were inspired and motivated, and they expressed interest in applying to Schoolcraft’s program after graduation. OSTC-SE extends its gratitude to Schoolcraft College for hosting such an enriching experience.
