Culinary Students Excel at Michigan 2024 ProStart Invitational

Twelve students from the OSTC-SE culinary program showcased their skills at the Michigan 2024 ProStart Invitational, competing in categories such as Cake Decorating, Tabletop Design, ServSafe Quiz Bowl, and Pasta preparation.
 
The cake decorating team, led by Ava Williams, Mya Del Papa, and Kneiya Ellison, clinched first place with their lemon chiffon cake with raspberry filling, praised for its moisture and flavor. The ServSafe quiz bowl team secured third place, demonstrating their knowledge in food safety and sanitation.
 
Participants who placed in the competition were awarded $1,000 scholarships to the Michigan State University Hospitality Program, highlighting the event's success and the bright future ahead for these culinary students.
