On October 10, 2023, the American Culinary Federation (ACF) opened doors for seven budding Southeast culinary students and their parents at the Michigan Chefs de Cuisine monthly meeting. Held at Oakland Community College's Farmington Hills campus, this event was eye-opening for aspiring chefs. OCC Chefs warmly welcomed the students, offering an enriching tour of their culinary haven.

The meeting’s hosts, WaltonWood, dazzled attendees with a delightful spread. From miso short ribs to seared tuna and a captivating array of desserts like the yuzu grapefruit tart, the culinary journey was both diverse and exquisite. Charles Muse, one of the students, praised the tuna while relishing the decadent dessert offerings.

The occasion provided invaluable insights, guiding students towards potential career paths within the hospitality industry, emphasizing post-secondary education, networking, and mentorship opportunities. Culminating with a fascinating lecture on Sake pairings and its role in cooking, the event not only educated but also offered a taste of fine dining experiences, enriching the journey into the world of culinary arts.
