Health Science students at Oakland Schools Technical Southeast Campus helped exceed collection goals during a Versiti blood drive held Nov. 20, supporting the region’s ongoing need for lifesaving blood donations.
The drive set a goal of collecting 25 units. A total of 33 donors registered, resulting in 35 units collected, including 25 whole-blood units and five double-red donations. Twenty-three participants were first-time donors.
The event provided a meaningful learning experience while allowing students to contribute directly to the community.
The next Versiti blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026.
