Oakland Schools Technical Campus Southeast Marketing students donated more than 300 children’s books to patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan on April 8.

The books were provided through the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, which challenged students to identify meaningful ways to distribute the books throughout the community. After presenting proposals and discussing potential community partners, students voted to donate the books to children receiving treatment at the Detroit hospital.

Instructor Mrs. Binko joined students Titus Hunter of Oxford Virtual Academy and Toni Ford of Southfield in delivering the books to the hospital during the morning donation visit.

The service project provided students with an opportunity to apply leadership, collaboration, and community engagement skills while supporting children and families in need.
