On March 10 and 11, eleven Culinary Arts students proudly represented their program at the 2025 ProStart Invitational, demonstrating skill, creativity, and teamwork across a wide range of competitions. Participants competed both individually and in teams in categories including cake decorating, quiz bowl, pasta, management, and knife skills.

In cake decorating, two teams crafted visually stunning cakes that showcased not only technical precision but also balanced flavor and imaginative themes. The management team impressed judges in a Shark Tank-style challenge, presenting a full restaurant concept and fielding tough business questions with poise and professionalism.

The quiz bowl team tested their knowledge in a fast-paced Kahoot-style competition focused on food safety and sanitation, while the knife skills event saw students executing judge-selected cuts to industry standards. Notably, second-year student Kaitlynn Rowe placed 5th in the state for knife skills—a remarkable achievement in a highly competitive field.

The pasta team delivered a standout performance, creating a handmade Raviolo al Uovo—a delicate ravioli filled with ricotta and a runny egg yolk in just 60 minutes. Their dish earned 2nd place out of 47 teams across Michigan.

Congratulations to all participating students for their dedication and outstanding performance!
