Oakland Schools Technical Campus Southeast student Manuela Bcharah earned 2026 Michigan Honorable Mention recognition through the National Center for Women and Information Technology Aspirations in Computing program.
The award recognizes female students who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, leadership potential and a passion for computer science and technology careers.
Bcharah, a junior at Bloomfield Hills High School, studies programming at OSTC-SE and has already earned certification in HTML and CSS. She plans to continue expanding her programming knowledge through additional coding languages and technical experiences.
Bcharah is also a Girls Who Code alumna and credits the experience with helping confirm her passion for computer science.
The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing program recognizes students across the nation and highlights emerging leaders and innovators in technology fields. Receiving honorable mention at the state level reflects Bcharah’s academic achievement, technical skill, and commitment to computing education.
