OSTC-SE Students Place in Top Five at Detroit Autorama
A team of dedicated students from Oakland Schools Technical Campus Southeast recently placed in the top five in the Conservative Pickup Class at the 72nd annual Detroit Autorama competition.
The students have spent the past three years designing and refining a specialized vehicle, dedicating countless hours to craftsmanship and engineering excellence. Their hard work was recognized at the prestigious event, held from Feb. 28 to March 2, 2025, at Huntington Place in Detroit.
Competing against high school and professional teams, the students showcased their technical expertise and innovation, earning a well-deserved plaque for their achievement.
"This accomplishment is a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and skill in automotive technology," said OSTC-SE Automotive Technology Instructor Jerry Weston. "The students have put in an incredible effort, and their success at Autorama reflects their passion for the industry."
The competition provided students with an invaluable experience, allowing them to apply their technical knowledge in a real-world setting while gaining recognition for their hard work. Their achievement highlights OSTC-SE's commitment to fostering hands-on learning and preparing students for future careers in automotive technology.
