OSTC Southeast DECA Students Take on Detroit

Students in the Entrepreneurship and Advanced Marketing program attended the DECA Sports and Entertainment Conference on Dec. 3 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The conference featured multiple presentations from Detroit Pistons executives, offering students a behind-the-scenes look at the sports and entertainment industry.

Florentino Vance was selected to participate in an on-court activity, adding an exciting highlight to the day. Following the conference, students had the opportunity to watch the Pistons take on the Milwaukee Bucks. While the Pistons didn’t secure a win, the students enjoyed seeing real-world marketing and digital advertising strategies in action.

Attendees included: Toni Ford, Akeilah Fayne, Nila Jones, Madison Young, Jalaya McCaskey, Gabrielle Fortune, Jeremiah Hill, R’Naijah Rucker, Ashley Dennard, Madison Boatwright, Julia Chubb, Sole’ Warr, Jaila Martin, Ivan Dantzler, Damir Irving, Nathan Lukasik, and Florentino Vance.

“Learning about how digital advertisements are displayed throughout the basketball games was interesting,” said Entrepreneurship and Advanced Marketing student Jaila Martin.
