OSTC-Southeast Students Triumph in OCCRA Robotics Championship
Mark Edwards

OSTC-Southeast's Engineering, Robotics, and Mechatronics program proved their mettle as they ventured into the competitive world of robotics by participating in the Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association (OCCRA) competition. Their journey was nothing short of extraordinary.

In a true testament to their dedication and skill, both the morning class (team 7769) and afternoon class (team 6977) took on the challenge with enthusiasm. Their mission: to design, manufacture, fabricate, wire, and program a robot for this year's OCCRA game, Pit Stop. In this challenging game, teams had to master the art of precision by shooting a 9" diameter tennis ball into a central goal while completing laps in a clockwise oval track-themed game.

The result? Remarkable success and a total of 5 well-deserved awards! Both teams exhibited exceptional teamwork, technical prowess, and strategic thinking, earning accolades from their peers and mentors alike.

The pinnacle of their achievements came with the afternoon class, who soared to victory as they were crowned the County Champions! This prestigious award is a testament to their unwavering dedication, hours of hard work, and the synergy that propelled them to the top of the robotics arena.
