Students Earn Thousands through Scholarships for Success
The Oakland Schools Education Foundation honored the recipients of the Scholarships for Success program at an evening ceremony held at Oakland Schools Main Campus on Monday, April 17th. This scholarship program, sponsored by the foundation, has supported students for nearly three decades since its inception in 1991 through a partnership between Oakland Schools and DENSO International.
This year, seven seniors from the Southeast Campus of Oakland Schools Technical Campus were awarded a total of $10,750 in scholarships. The scholarship candidates had to meet certain criteria, including being a senior in an Oakland Schools Technical Campus program, maintaining a minimum overall GPA of 2.0, a minimum GPA of 3.0 in career technical education courses (both OSTC and high school CTE classes), and demonstrating intent to pursue higher education at a two- or four-year college/university, apprenticeship, or trade school.

Madison Peach: Health (Bonnie Crowson Scholarship, $1,000.00)

Samuel Walker: Construction ($1,000.00)
Zhi Pearson: Programming ($750.00)
Jada Wade: Marketing ($500.00)
