Wellness Week Promotes Health, Life Skills and Community
Mark Edwards

OSTC Southeast hosted a four-day Wellness Week in December focused on health, life skills, and personal development.

The week opened with “Cookies and Cocoa,” fostering connection among students. A Community Health Fair followed, featuring presentations on nutrition, exercise, and healthy living.

Wellness Wednesday included interactive sessions led by staff, including Financial Literacy with Mrs. Binko, Meditation with Angela Shaw, Yoga with Ann Jensen, Exercise with Joseph Channey, and Healthy Eats presented by the Culinary program. Additional workshops covered home repair, basic car maintenance, and car detailing.

The week concluded with Entrepreneur Day, where student entrepreneurs showcased their businesses and services.

The event was organized by the Student Leadership Team and included participation across programs.

Alumnus Sterling Alexander, a 2015 Construction program graduate, returned to campus to speak about maintaining healthy habits while building a successful career.

Wellness Week reinforced the campus commitment to supporting students academically, professionally, and personally.
